Mark Kane - SE Group

Mark Kane is a principle with the SE Group, a strategic planning, permitting, and design firm that has completed over 2,500 projects and become a global leader in working with mountain resorts and small-town, rural communities alike. Mark helps communities defined by outdoor recreation, the rural lifestyle, and tourism unlock and maximize economic, environmental, aesthetic, and recreational character-and potential-through community and land use planning, permitting, and entitlement. Mark brings together deep community planning expertise; an intuitive and informed understanding of how to bring together diverse communities for long term consensus and gain; and a profound commitment to helping small communities find, articulate, tap into, and retain what makes them special.

Randy Cohen - Americans for the Arts

Randy Cohen is the national spokesperson for Americans for the Arts, the Washington DC based lobbying organization for the $166 billion US arts and cultural industry. Randy Cohen is Vice President of Research and Policy at Americans for the Arts.  He recently published Americans Speak Out About the Arts, one of the largest national public opinion studies about the arts ever conducted, and publishes the two premier economic studies of the arts industries-Arts & Economic Prosperity, the national impact study of nonprofit arts organizations and their audiences; and Creative Industries, a mapping study of the nation's 703,000 arts establishments and their employees.
 
Ralf Garrison - Inntopia / Destimetrics
 
Ralf Garrison is the founder of Destimetrics,  a leading comprehensive market intelligence provider for the destination leisure travel industry.  Destimetrics was acquired by Inntopia, the travel industry's leading eCommerce and central reservation provider early this year. The Destimetrics platform provides destinations and properties alike an insightful, forward-looking view of their performance and upcoming visitation to empower data-driven decisions on marketing spend, rate, and staff.

Thank you to the members who attended our September 6th Members Only Meeting at the Limelight Hotel Ketchum.  Also you can view Harry Griffith's presentation here.
 
The event was covered by the Mountain Express and Eye on Sun Valley and you can see their follow up here.
 
SVED has been working with local governments and developers to find some breakthrough solutions in complex situations so that housing can be built. 
 
Bellevue is being presented with annexation opportunities both north and south of the city. read more
The big effort in the last few months has been in trying to find a way forward at the GATEWAY across from St. Luke's south of Ketchum along highway 75's east side. 
 
There is a significant meeting in front of the Blaine County Commissioners October 10th, Tuesday, 4:15 - 4:45pm when Harry Griffith, SVED's Executive Director, will present realistic options for delivering middle income housing.
 
The public is always invited to the open session at the top floor of the Old Courthouse.

Free Business Expo October 25th
 
The Chamber and Sun Valley Economic Development invite you to participate in this year's Wood River Business Expo.

Thursday, October 25th, 4-7pm at Limelight Hotel Ketchum

Join us for an evening of networking and relationship building, consumer education and exposure of your products and services to a diverse group of WR Valley residents, business owners and managers.

Sponsorships are available to give businesses additional exposure at the Expo and through the Expo's advertising and promotion.

With free public attendance, 400 - 500 are expected.
 

Exhibitor registration deadline is October 11th.
